In this class, you will make a beautiful white oak tray on dovetail runners. Designed by award-winning furniture maker/designer Heidi Earnshaw, the tray can be used as a trivet, cutting board or display platform to curate your favorite objects. The project introduces students to the sliding dovetail joint as well as the safe set up and operation of a table saw and router table. To fit the project into a one night time slot, instructors will cut one half of the joint in advance. Students will complete the second half of the joint before assembling, sanding, and finishing their tray. All materials are included.
